Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for cost management and procurement throughout construction projects to ensure budgets are maintained and quality standards met.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quantity take-off and cost estimation for projects.
• Manage ordering of materials and track budgets for main items such as rebars and tiles.
• Handle measurements, payment responses, and variation orders for subcontractors.
• Prepare tender submissions within stipulated deadlines.
• Source, negotiate, and award contracts to vendors.
• Administer tendering and contract documents, including preparation of bills of quantities (BQ), cost estimation, control, and budgeting.
• Monitor actual construction costs relative to contract scope and quality requirements.
• Ensure effective cost control to keep project expenditures within budget.
• Advise project teams on contractual rights and arbitration procedures in case of disputes.
• Conduct thorough assessments of costs and schedules for all project activities.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• At least 2 years of relevant construction industry experience.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with construction materials and procurement practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software.
• Knowledge of Building Construction Works, Singapore Contracts Law, and regulations is advantageous.
