About the Role
Join AA New Zealand, a trusted national institution with over 120 years of history supporting Kiwis on their journeys. As a Service Officer based in Dunedin, you will be one of the front-line "Roadservice Heroes" delivering expert roadside assistance to Members during their moments of need.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert roadside support by diagnosing vehicle faults and providing safe, effective repairs.
- Respond promptly to jobs assigned by the Contact Centre and Dispatch teams while managing workload and meeting performance targets.
- Communicate clearly with Members, explaining faults, outlining next steps, and presenting options.
- Handle payment processing accurately using AA’s systems and technologies.
- Identify and recommend AA products and partner services that align with Members’ needs.
- Maintain professional appearance including uniform, vehicle presentation, and positive customer interactions.
- Ensure your service vehicle, tools, and equipment are clean, maintained, and ready for use.
- Prioritize safety by adhering to AA health and safety protocols to protect yourself and others.
- Support a collaborative team culture by sharing feedback and assisting colleagues to continually improve service quality.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Level 4 Automotive Trade Qualification or equivalent, coupled with recent, relevant automotive industry experience.
- Proficient in diagnostics with the ability to assess and resolve breakdowns efficiently on the road.
- Possesses a clean, full New Zealand Driver Licence and commits to safe driving standards.
- Comfortable using basic computing tools, tablets, and vehicle technology for job completion and payment processes.
- Strong communication skills to ease customer concerns and clearly explain technical details.
- Genuine dedication to customer service, representing the AA brand professionally and ethically.
- Availability and flexibility to work a rotating roster across seven days, including public holidays.
