Senior Financial Accountant

Role Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing Mechanica's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate maintenance of financial records, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and overseeing budget monitoring for various events and initiatives. This position entails coordination of expense tracking, ensuring prompt payments to vendors and partners, and supporting financial planning associated with workshops, competitions, and logistical aspects.

Key Responsibilities

The role also involves producing financial reports for internal stakeholders, assisting in audit processes or reviews, and verifying adherence to pertinent financial policies and procedures. This is a part-time position based in Abu Dhabi with a hybrid work model combining onsite presence and remote collaboration through virtual and face-to-face meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong expertise in Finance and Financial Reporting, with capabilities to prepare and interpret financial data to aid decision-making.
• Advanced proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and reconciling financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Robust analytical abilities to evaluate budget performance, detect trends, and provide recommendations to enhance resource management.
• Competency in accounting software and related financial tools to facilitate accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required; professional certifications like CPA or ACCA are considered advantageous.
• Prior experience with event or project-based accounting, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to function autonomously within a hybrid work setting.
• Strong communication skills and aptitude for teamwork across various departments and stakeholders.
