Payroll Specialist (Fixed Term until June 2028)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the monthly payroll for FlixTrain GmbH, collaborating closely with our external payroll provider.
• Ensure all payroll-relevant information—such as new hires, terminations, contract changes, benefits, and absences—is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Manage the entire payroll process, maintaining high data quality within the payroll system and resolving account discrepancies with accounting.
• Serve as the point of contact for employees, HR colleagues, and external partners regarding payroll inquiries.
• Act as a process expert by continuously improving payroll procedures and actively driving automation initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• At least 4 years' experience in preparatory payroll accounting, ideally with blue-collar workforce familiarity.
• Strong expertise in payroll tax and social security regulations, including handling supplements like night, Sunday, and holiday bonuses as well as benefits such as non-cash perks, job tickets, or company pension schemes.
• Proficient with HR and payroll systems (e.g., DATEV, SAGE, SAP) and quick to adapt to new digital tools and processes due to strong technical affinity.
• Enthusiastic about optimizing and automating payroll operations, contributing ideas and collaborating with the team to implement them.
• Work in a structured, reliable, and confidential manner, demonstrating a high degree of responsibility.
• Excellent command of both German and English in written and spoken form.
