Role Overview

As a Kitchen and Laundry Technician at Mansard Riyadh, a Radisson Collection Hotel, you will be pivotal in supporting the seamless functionality of kitchen and laundry operations. Your responsibilities will include preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing technical problems, and conducting timely equipment repairs to uphold the hotel's daily service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and corrective maintenance on all kitchen and laundry machinery to guarantee their safety, dependability, and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial cooking appliances, such as ovens, combi ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, dishwashers, refrigeration systems, and ventilation equipment.
• Manage maintenance tasks for laundry machines like washers, dryers, ironing devices, and related systems.
• Perform regular equipment inspections to detect issues such as malfunctions, leaks, or declining performance before they disrupt operations.
• Handle repairs and upkeep of electrical and gas-powered equipment adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
• Oversee the operation of refrigeration units, walk-in chillers, freezers, and cold storage to maintain ideal temperature conditions.
• Respond promptly to service requests from Culinary, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments to reduce equipment downtime.
• Keep thorough records of maintenance activities, repair logs, and manage parts inventory efficiently.
• Assist with the setup, testing, and commissioning of newly installed kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance services when necessary.
• Ensure all equipment complies with applicable health, safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Support food safety by maintaining equipment reliability and promptly reporting any issues impacting kitchen functionality.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in tool and spare part storage areas as well as the workshop.
• Work closely with the Engineering and operational teams to deliver effective technical support.
• Follow fire, health, safety, environmental regulations, and hotel policies at all times.
• Promote a constructive team atmosphere through professionalism, responsibility, and proactive engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years of work experience as a Kitchen, Laundry, or Engineering Technician in a hospitality or hotel setting.
• Hands-on experience with commercial kitchen and laundry equipment, including gas and electrical systems.
• Competence in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair work.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems related to kitchen and laundry operations.
• Familiarity with major brands and models of kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Understanding of food safety (HACCP), hygiene standards, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to perform simple welding and minor fabrication is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with operational teams.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
