Customer Delivery Driver (Permanent 25 - 30 Hours) - Ballinasloe

Role Overview

Tesco seeks dedicated Customer Delivery Drivers to be the first point of contact for home shopping customers, providing a vital role in delivering excellent service every day. Drivers will handle diverse, hands-on tasks and enjoy varied shifts, working mostly independently with support from managers and colleagues.

Key Duties

• Ensure an outstanding home shopping experience by prioritizing customer needs.
• Load delivery vehicles as needed and perform routine safety and roadworthiness checks.
• Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes efficiently.
• Maintain professional appearance in uniform and deliver services courteously.
• Drive carefully, adhering to traffic laws and road safety.
• Be respectful to other road users at all times.
• Greet customers by name and serve with friendliness and care.
• Handle customers’ orders with responsibility as if they were your own.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a full Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) held for minimum two years with no more than three penalty points.
• Exhibit safe, courteous driving habits.
• Enjoy interacting with and assisting people.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, a good sense of humor, and personable nature.
• Show initiative and good judgment in various situations.
• Have a commitment to positively impacting customers and colleagues.
• Remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Undergo Garda Vetting and provide current driving penalty points verification as part of the recruitment process.
• Not have any driving disqualifications in the past 10 years.
• Provide bank account details prior to starting employment.

Work Details

Various shift patterns available with contracts ranging from 20 to 39 hours weekly. The position is based onsite in Dunlo, County Galway.
