Customer Delivery Driver - Roscommon

Overview

Tesco is currently recruiting Customer Delivery Drivers to join our team in Roscommon. The role involves delivering groceries directly to customers' homes, providing an exceptional shopping experience by prioritizing customer satisfaction. Each day brings variety and hands-on work, making the position dynamic and engaging. Drivers typically operate independently during deliveries but have managerial and team support available as needed. Various shifts are available to accommodate different schedules.

Key Duties

• Ensure customers receive an outstanding home shopping experience by placing their needs at the center of all activities.
• Assist with loading the delivery van and perform daily safety and roadworthiness checks on the vehicle.
• Follow the pre-planned schedules and routes effectively for timely delivery.
• Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the uniform while being ready and willing to help customers.
• Operate vehicles safely, responsibly, and comply fully with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Display courteous behavior towards all road users and customers alike.
• Greet customers personally with a smile, addressing them by name whenever possible.
• Handle customers’ orders and deliveries with care, as if they were your own belongings.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a full Irish or EU driving license (manual or automatic) for a minimum of two years, with no more than three penalty points.
• Demonstrate safe and responsible driving habits.
• Enjoy assisting others and be personable with a good sense of humor.
• Possess excellent communication abilities and take initiative using practical judgment.
• Show genuine care for making a positive difference for customers and colleagues.
• Remain calm and composed when under pressure.
• Applicants must pass Garda Vetting and provide proof of current penalty points from the National Driver Licence Services at the assessment stage.
• Applicants disqualified from driving within the past 10 years are ineligible to apply.
• A bank account must be provided prior to the agreed start date upon successful application.

Compensation and Benefits

• Multiple shift options available with part-time and full-time contracts ranging between 20 and 39 hours per week.
• Starting hourly pay of €18.24 for new drivers, with additional premiums for Sunday shifts.
