Category Executive - Grocery and Local Shops

About the Role

We are seeking a Category Executive to help expand and manage our growing portfolio of partners within the grocery sector. This position centers on specialized categories including supermarkets, butcheries, fresh produce vendors, dates and sweets suppliers, spices, and other niche segments. Your primary goal will be to drive sales, strengthen partner engagement, increase product offerings, and enhance category performance using business insight and data analysis tools such as Excel.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard new partners such as supermarkets, butcheries, and specialty vendors in fresh produce, sweets, and spices.
• Conduct thorough market research to find growth opportunities and potential collaborations.
• Collaborate with partners to ensure competitive pricing strategies, adequate product availability, and portfolio alignment to customer requirements.
• Maintain and nurture long-lasting relationships through regular communication and issue resolution.
• Educate partners regarding platform benefits, marketing potentials, and operational excellence.
• Support sales growth by implementing promotions, campaign strategies, and bundling offers.
• Use data-driven insights to discover revenue growth opportunities and optimize margins.
• Partner with marketing to increase product visibility and drive customer traffic.
• Develop and adjust pricing strategies to sustain competitive edge and improve profitability.
• Monitor category profitability, perform competitor analysis, and recommend market-driven adjustments.
• Coordinate with operations teams to guarantee seamless fulfillment, stock management, and delivery schedules.
• Assist in addressing operational challenges, including stock discrepancies and delays.
• Ensure partner adherence to operational and quality standards.
• Analyze sales trends, partner performance, and customer behavior using advanced Excel and other analytic tools.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards to track category KPIs for management review.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with category managers, marketing, operations, and supply chain to align goals and execute plans.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in category management, sales, account management, or business development within grocery, FMCG, or e-commerce sectors.
• Proven track record in partner acquisition and portfolio expansion.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; Arabic fluency is highly desirable.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
