Job Purpose

The General Manager oversees all operational departments in a Buddy's unit, striving to enhance guest satisfaction and profitability. This role ensures superior customer service daily while maintaining effective communication with management and team members about plans and performance. The position requires a commitment of at least 5 days and 50 hours weekly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise daily unit operations including decision making, staff training, guest engagement, scheduling, maintaining product quality, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage labor efficiently each shift by monitoring breaks and enforcing correct cash handling and checkout procedures.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with staff to align on goals and expectations.
• Provide ongoing guidance to employees to comply with operational processes and policies.
• Complete managerial accounting reports as directed and monitor sales and labor data for insights.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve departmental performance and store goals.
• Ensure all line checks are consistently accurate during shifts.
• Promote a positive work environment to maximize employee morale, productivity, and growth.
• Maintain a safe workplace to minimize injury and accident risks.
• Oversee deliveries ensuring the correct products and billing accuracy.
• Address guest inquiries and issues professionally, manage approvals for comps, promotions, credits, and requests.

Leadership Duties

• Participate in hiring, training, and scheduling of staff.
• Utilize communication platforms appropriately including pre-shifts, record keeping, and performance evaluations.
• Conduct employee reviews and provide constructive feedback, enforcing disciplinary measures when needed.
• Ensure all staff adhere to Buddy’s uniform policies and standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of general management experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
• Strong skills in leadership, communication, staff development, and operational quality management.
• Effective communicator at all staff levels with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledgeable about employment laws and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Outstanding customer service aptitude paired with critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer skills are essential.
