Job description

Job Overview

This role involves supporting Youth Services operations by helping to design and implement programs for adolescents across various environments such as community spaces, schools, and legal frameworks. Candidates will engage extensively with young people to address their challenges and promote their developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on adolescent-centered initiatives.
  • Design, organize, and execute programs and activities targeting youth in settings like schools, the community, and mandated programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop program plans and session curricula for groups and individual sessions.
  • Ensure detailed documentation and reporting of all programs and sessions.
  • Participate in systemic activities including case conferences and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Manage crisis situations affecting adolescents with guidance from organizational policies and supervisory input.
  • Contribute to organizational knowledge enhancement to improve service delivery.
  • Assist in research projects aimed at better understanding adolescent needs and assessing program effectiveness.
  • Represent the department in interactions with stakeholders and partners.
  • Help manage stakeholder relationships and prepare presentation collateral.
  • Engage actively in professional learning and development initiatives provided by the department.
  • Proactively suggest training and development opportunities to build competencies relevant to required functions.
  • Collaborate with Youth Services colleagues to share learning experiences.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field; candidates with other degrees may be considered for executive roles.
  • Preferably some experience working with young people, though fresh graduates are invited to apply.
  • Ability to interact with youth in both formal and informal contexts.
  • Capability to independently design, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Good communication skills to engage with youth and external partners.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in sports and physical activities as part of the role.
  • Flexibility to operate across multiple locations and work varied hours.

Work Locations and Schedule

  • Primary work sites: Blk 943 Tampines Avenue 5 and Blk 645 Woodlands Ring Road.
  • Working hours vary: Monday & Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Wednesday & Thursday from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM; Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Hours may be adjusted based on organizational needs, with flexible time-off policies in place.
