Job description

About the Role and Team

The Long-Term Containment (LTC) team operates during the "Contain" phase of the risk management lifecycle, focusing on durable enforcement to prevent recurring harm. Unlike teams prioritizing rapid incident response, LTC ensures sustained suppression of risks.

As a Youth Safety Analyst on this team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating youth-safety related harms on the platform in a lasting manner. This involves investigating initial incident escalations and extending that insight into understanding broader violating clusters, networks, or behavioral patterns. You will develop and apply enforcement rules and tools that help maintain containment of these harms over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze recurring youth safety reports across platform features such as Accounts, Search, Video, Photo, Audio, LIVE, and Comments to identify and close enforcement vulnerabilities that allow repeated harm.
  • Translate individual escalation signals into awareness of wider violation clusters and apply systemic containment actions rather than isolated takedowns.
  • Design, build, and maintain containment tactics including sweeps, trend monitoring rules, seed banks, and automated detection methods, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness over time.
  • Create scripts and analytical methods to detect and track risk signals and patterns where appropriate tools are absent.
  • Perform extensive data querying to quantify harm levels, identify emerging trends, evaluate enforcement impact, and prioritize operational focus areas.
  • Manage and report metrics related to enforcement actions, including escalation reduction, prevalence, visibility, and repeat offenses within assigned safety topics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk Detection, Rapid Response, Account Risk Management, Policy, Product, and Operations teams to implement containment strategies and contribute to upstream initiatives that address root causes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to technical teams and senior leadership and help standardize containment practices globally.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in Trust & Safety, risk analysis, fraud/abuse investigations, intelligence analysis, or related integrity roles within tech platforms, consultancy, or regulatory agencies.
  • Strong critical thinking and investigative skills to dissect ambiguous problems, formulate testable hypotheses, and differentiate isolated incidents from systemic patterns.
  • Proficiency in data analysis with abilities in SQL or similar query languages; experience working with large datasets and visualization tools to produce reliable insights.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for data analysis, automation of workflows, and enhancing risk detection and containment.
  • Deep understanding of Trust & Safety frameworks including detection, containment, and prevention phases, with an ability to evaluate enforcement durability.
  • Experience performing root cause analyses and converting these into actionable enforcement policies or recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Committed to protecting minors, managing sensitive content responsibly, and maintaining well-being in mentally and emotionally demanding roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in youth safety, child protection, or managing high-harm policy areas at scale.
  • Experience in developing or fine-tuning rule-based or automated detection mechanisms, including applying machine learning to risk detection.
  • Comfort working in a global, cross-regional Trust & Safety environment and collaborating with multiple departments such as Policy, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to evolving threats and fast-paced challenges with ambiguity.

Working with Harmful Content

This role involves regular exposure to harmful content including images, videos, and text related to bullying, hate speech, child safety, and depictions of harm to self, others, or animals. The position is psychologically demanding and requires resilience and support for employee well-being.

Comprehensive programs are provided to foster physical and mental health, promoting a person-centered and integrated support approach throughout an employee’s tenure.
