Role overview
Westgrove is hiring a dependable and empathetic Youth Mentor to work one-on-one with recipients in their homes and out in the community. In this role, you’ll support people by encouraging progress, assisting with skill-building activities, and helping them work toward personal goals in environments beyond the home. The organization serves community members with mental health needs across Southeast Michigan.
What you’ll do
You will provide direct, individualized support to clients, help them build practical life and social skills, and accompany them into community settings so they can practice and strengthen their goals. The work may involve following care plans, assisting with day-to-day growth activities, and offering consistent encouragement in a supportive manner.

Requirements
- Genuinely caring, patient, and dependable approach
- Good verbal communication and people skills
- Ability to work on your own while following established care plans
- Comfort level supporting people with different abilities
- Reliable transportation to each assignment
- Must be able to clear the required background and screening checks
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old

Full-time and part-time opportunities are both available. The position is based in clients’ homes and in community settings in the Utica, MI area.
