Job description
Role Overview
This position involves conducting regular site visits and inspections to uphold workplace safety standards. The professional will monitor safety compliance, advise project teams, investigate incidents, manage documentation, and support safety initiatives to improve site safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and carry out scheduled visits to designated project sites, ensuring inspections meet required frequency.
- Assist Project Managers and Site Officers by identifying safety lapses and collaborating with contractors to resolve issues promptly.
- Provide detailed inspection reports and follow up to close outstanding issues effectively.
- Offer guidance on safety policies during engagements with project teams and promote best practices for ongoing safety enhancement.
- Participate in incident reviews, ensuring investigation reports are accurate and recommend enforcement actions as needed.
- Manage uploading of inspection reports and related documents into the document management system as required.
- Contribute actively to project onboarding and safety meetings, supporting safety improvement efforts and encouraging open reporting.
- Help manage and resolve safety concerns raised by stakeholders in coordination with team members.
- Perform administrative tasks and other duties assigned by the Safety Department within the contract period.
- Mentor new Workplace Safety and Health Professionals to familiarize them with internal safety procedures and policies.
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to provide feedback for continuous safety improvements on site.
Applicant Requirements
- Must be a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with Ministry of Manpower, holding at least three years of experience at WSHO level or higher.
- Successful security clearance for the client projects is mandatory.
- Knowledgeable in Workplace Safety and Health legislation and related laws such as the WSH Act, Fire Safety Act, and Environmental Protection and Management Act.
- Exemplifies high integrity, self-motivation, discipline, and the ability to work independently.
- A team player, willing to assist colleagues when needed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders from clients to contractors and workers.
- Proficient in report writing and computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Preferred experience with technology implementation in safety processes, including ePTW systems, video analytics, data analytics, drones, and video surveillance analysis for safety monitoring.
