Overview

As a Safety Coordinator, you will be integral to this mission, overseeing safety measures at one of our logistics locations in Miesenbach, Rhineland-Palatinate. Key Responsibilities
- Perform risk assessments and audits consistently to maintain safety standards.
- Monitor site operations to ensure adherence to Amazon's safety protocols.
- Develop and update reports on safety metrics for colleague review and action.
- Collaborate with and guide team members and other employees across the company on safety-related matters and procedures.
- Support the implementation of new safety initiatives at the site.
Typical Daily Activities
You will be based onsite at a logistics facility, observing operations closely and serving as a point of contact for employee safety inquiries during shifts. Your role involves proactively identifying potential safety issues before they arise, continuously inspecting how employees use equipment, and understanding the function of all tasks and machinery to ensure safe processes. You will drive the execution of safety changes and frequently partner with various stakeholders to maintain a secure working environment.
Team Dynamics
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is fundamental in promoting both mental and physical well-being of staff. Working alongside managers, partners, and local authorities, the team ensures compliance with all legislative requirements and internal policies to uphold safe workplace environments. The team includes safety engineers and program managers, all contributing to the development, deployment, and maintenance of Amazon’s rigorous safety standards. Collaboration with colleagues across departments on diverse projects, spanning from equipment checks to design assessments, is routine.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of vocational training or relevant work experience in a pertinent field.
- Proficient use of data analysis to generate and validate key safety metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in German language.
- Good command of English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both in writing and through presentations.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams.
- Certification as a Certified Safety Specialist or equivalent professional qualification in occupational safety.
