Workplace Health and Safety Officer

Job Overview

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer will work closely with the site operations team at a delivery station in Jeddah to implement company safety standards and guarantee compliance with local and regional safety regulations. Utilizing lean practices and continuous improvement strategies such as kaizens, the role focuses on minimizing conditional and ergonomic hazards to foster a healthy and secure work environment for Associates.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the operations team to enforce company safety policies and comply with all relevant local and regional legal safety requirements.
• Assess and analyze safety data continually to identify risk areas and improvements, facilitating resource allocation to high-risk locations.
• Communicate safety information clearly and persuasively both verbally and in writing to Operations Leaders and teams.
• Conduct comprehensive risk evaluations, safety audits, and follow up with corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead auditing of workplace organization and employee behaviors to maintain consistent training and safety procedures.
• Guide and support Safety Associates in the facility, especially during peak periods.
• Maintain accurate safety records following global WHS and local standards.
• Participate actively on-site to gather feedback and encourage transparent communication on safety programs.

Requirements

• Fluent in English: speaking, reading, and writing skills are essential.
• Preferred qualification: NEBOSH National General Certificate is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of safety program frameworks, environmental factors, ergonomic standards, and local or regional WHS regulations.
• Ability to work in shift patterns as required by the site.

The WHS Officer will be a member of the site WHS team and report directly to the site WHS manager.
