Role overview

This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles the full application and hiring process. The partner is seeking a Canada-based Workday Time Tracking and Absence Consultant to deliver end-to-end solutions that help clients improve workforce management and HR operations through reliable Workday configurations.

The role involves working with clients to understand their needs, shape functional solutions, and implement scalable Workday setups across a variety of industries and project scopes. It is a consulting-oriented position for someone who enjoys client interaction, structured delivery, technical configuration, and problem-solving within the Workday ecosystem.

You will also have the chance to contribute to knowledge sharing, team support, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives while working with internal teams and clients in a fast-moving environment.

Key accountabilities

  • Support or lead Workday Time Tracking and Absence implementations for clients of different sizes and complexity levels.
  • Collect business needs and convert them into functional Workday designs that match client objectives.
  • Set up and maintain Workday elements such as Absence Plans, Time Entry Templates, Time Calculations, Eligibility Rules, and Accruals.
  • Take part in solution design, prototyping, testing, and deployment through the full project lifecycle.
  • Develop and support reports, calculated fields, EIBs, and business processes inside Workday.
  • Work closely with clients to drive adoption and deliver strong implementation outcomes.
  • Share knowledge internally, contribute to training, and support ongoing process improvements.
  • Help manage escalations and, at senior levels, mentor junior consultants and assist with team development.
  • Support project scoping and pre-sales efforts when needed, using Workday expertise.

Requirements

  • Active Workday Time Tracking and Workday Absence certifications are mandatory.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience implementing Workday Time Tracking and Absence solutions.
  • Hands-on background in gathering requirements, designing, configuring, and testing Workday HCM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Workday configuration areas such as time entry, absence plans, accruals, and related business processes.
  • Practical experience with calculated fields, custom reports, and EIBs.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust.
  • Ability to handle several projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced consulting setting.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a customer-first approach.
  • Comfort working with distributed teams and adapting to different client environments.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% to 45% when required.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay with bonus and commission potential.
  • Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage.
  • Paid vacation, paid holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Registered retirement savings plan (RRSP).
  • Training support, certification assistance, and opportunities for career growth.
  • Partial reimbursement for gym membership expenses.
  • Referral program and team-building activities.
  • Opportunities to contribute to philanthropic and community initiatives.
  • Remote flexibility depending on project requirements.
  • Exposure to a broad range of Workday implementation engagements and clients.
