Workday Payroll Consultant

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Workday Payroll Consultant with over 12 years of payroll expertise specializing in US and Canada payroll systems. This role focuses on payroll implementations, configuration, compliance, and ongoing payroll operations primarily within the Workday environment, based in California with a hybrid work setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in implementing Workday Payroll solutions for US and Canadian payroll processes.
• Configure payroll items such as earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and garnishments within Workday.
• Maintain adherence to US federal, state, local, and Canadian payroll regulations to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance teams, and external vendors to ensure smooth payroll workflows.
• Manage payroll testing phases including parallel runs, validations, and provide support during go-live events.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll-related issues, offering ongoing support post-deployment.
• Generate payroll reports, conduct audits, and perform reconciliations.
• Support Workday system upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

• At least 12 years of comprehensive payroll experience including substantial Workday Payroll exposure.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in processing payroll for both US and Canadian jurisdictions.
• Solid understanding of payroll compliance, taxation laws, and statutory requirements across North America.
• Strong proficiency with Workday HCM and Payroll modules.
• Experienced in hybrid and onsite work environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Credentials

• Workday Payroll Certification for US and Canada is advantageous.
• Experience integrating payroll systems with third-party applications and vendors.
• Background in managing payroll operations for large enterprises or multinational companies.
