Job description
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for steering the preparation of persuasive, high-value proposals that strengthen AESG’s position in the market and improve its chances of securing new projects. The Lead Design Consultant – Work Winning Specialist takes ownership across the entire bid and pursuit journey, from spotting opportunities and shaping pursuit plans through to win strategy creation, storyboard development, proposal authoring, stakeholder coordination, and final submission control.
The role develops clear, compelling technical and commercial bid narratives that showcase AESG’s multidisciplinary design consultancy strengths, unique advantages, and client value proposition, while maintaining full compliance and a consistently high standard in every submission. In addition to managing individual pursuits, the role also contributes to ongoing improvement by refining work winning practices, strengthening the Bid Excellence Framework, sharing knowledge across the team, and providing insights that help raise proposal quality, improve efficiency, and increase overall win rates.
Qualification and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- More than 10 years of experience in administration and proposal management for LDC bids is expected.
- Background in engineering, architecture, or a professional consultancy environment is preferred.
- A solid grasp of consultancy services, procurement workflows, and commercial coordination is necessary.
- Experience handling complex, multidisciplinary, and high-value pursuits is important.
- Working knowledge of InDesign, CRM platforms, and proposal management systems is required.
- Strong ability in graphics coordination and presentation development is needed.
Responsibilities
- Independently lead complex, multidisciplinary bids as an experienced work winning professional.
- Manage proposal development, communication, and stakeholder coordination effectively.
- Handle several concurrent pursuits while working to tight deadlines.
- Apply strategic judgment, strong attention to detail, and collaborative leadership.
- Guide and mentor junior team members.
- Independently review RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and prequalification requests.
- Lead the full proposal development and submission process for multidisciplinary consultancy opportunities.
- Create pursuit strategies, proposal structures, win themes, and submission plans.
- Draft, coordinate, review, and assemble compliant, high-quality proposal submissions.
- Work with Heads of Divisions, technical teams, subconsultants, commercial teams, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and coordinate commercial fee proposals, deployment schedules, and resource allocation schedules as needed for submissions and client clarifications.
- Oversee the subconsultancy engagement process, including partner identification, scope alignment, fee coordination, proposal inputs, compliance documentation, and timely submission of required information.
- Coordinate subconsultant agreements, resource needs, and commercial inputs with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Maintain productive relationships with subconsultants and external partners to support strategic pursuits and multidisciplinary bids.
- Manage proposal formatting, visual presentation, and submission packaging to ensure polished, client-focused outputs.
- Review tender documents, addenda, and clarifications independently and brief the relevant teams on updates.
- Lead storyboard planning, content structuring, and narrative development.
- Prepare executive summaries, capability statements, project references, CVs, and technical submission content.
- Ensure every submission follows client instructions, submission procedures, and AESG standards.
- Maintain proposal templates, bid libraries, and standard content resources.
- Support, supervise, and mentor work winning coordinators and proposal contributors.
- Record all proposals and revisions in NetSuite promptly.
- Review proposal and prequalification drafts prepared by other team members when needed.
- Coordinate interview preparation, presentations, and post-submission clarification activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve the proposal and work winning process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and the adoption of best practices.
- Lead and coordinate monthly work winning team meetings.
- Issue IMS handover communications for awarded projects.
- Track market intelligence, competitor movements, and new opportunities.
- Support wider business development and client engagement activities when required.
