About Beyond Bank Australia

Beyond Bank Australia is among the country’s largest member-owned mutual banks, carrying a credit union legacy. It supports more than 300,000 members through personal, business and community banking, with a national network of over 50 branches.

The organisation is driven by a purpose to improve lives by looking after members and communities. As a Certified B Corp, it operates to high standards of social and environmental responsibility and aims to create positive outcomes through its work.

Its culture is shaped by the values of Member Obsession, Empowering Communities, Shared Ambition and Championing Sustainability, along with the behaviours expected of every team member: Own It, Call it Out, Be Respectful, Bring Your A Game, Make A Difference and Right Things Right Way.

Role Overview

This permanent part-time opportunity is for 3 days per week and follows a hybrid working model with 60% time in the office and 40% remote. It offers flexibility and is well suited to someone looking to develop a career in Work Health and Safety while maintaining work-life balance.

In this position, you will support the WHS and Wellbeing Manager and help coordinate daily WHS and wellbeing operations across the business. The role focuses on keeping key systems and processes running effectively, supporting incident and hazard management, maintaining reporting and records, assisting with documentation, and helping with audit follow-up and stakeholder communication.

Key Duties

  • Oversee the handling of hazards and incidents, making sure follow-up actions are completed promptly and escalated when required
  • Assist with investigations, corrective actions, and the upkeep of WHS records and registers
  • Contribute to the preparation, review and communication of WHS policies and procedures
  • Manage the WHS inbox, sort incoming queries, and monitor actions until completion
  • Keep track of audit outcomes and action lists, ensuring reporting is accurate and supporting evidence is captured
  • Organise WHS meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, recording minutes and following up actions

About You

This opportunity suits someone with WHS coordination experience, or with a strong administrative/support background and a clear interest in building a career in Work Health and Safety.

You should bring a high level of accuracy, strong organisation, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and confidence working with systems and processes. A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to communicate clearly and maintain discretion with sensitive information are important for success in this role.

Experience with Protecht, or exposure to audits and evidence collation, would be an advantage but is not essential.

Team Environment

You will join the People & Culture team, a group of professionals who work with internal and external stakeholders to attract, retain, develop and engage employees, helping deliver value to customers in line with the organisation’s purpose.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • An additional 3 paid days for work-life balance
  • Paid volunteer days to support community organisations across Australia
  • Access to employee discounts, health and wellbeing initiatives, and employee plus family assistance
  • A flexible and diverse workplace
  • Career growth opportunities, training and coaching

Inclusion and Accessibility

Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities and culturally diverse applicants.

The employer is committed to an accessible recruitment process and workplace. Applicants who need adjustments to the application, recruitment, selection, assessment process, or accessibility modifications at the workplace can request support by contacting recruitment@beyondbank.com.au.

Recruitment Process and Other Conditions

The selection process may include a phone screen, video screen, virtual or face-to-face interview, psychometric testing, and relevant background checks. Some roles may also require 4 weeks of mandatory full training.

By applying, candidates consent to pre-employment screening at the employer’s expense. Checks may include APRA, ASIC, bankruptcy, National Criminal History Check, VEVO, adverse media checks and reference checks.

Compensation

The role offers a pro-rata salary package in the range of $58,100 to $61,300.
