Job description
Role overview
This full-time, continuing position is based in the Student Engagement Portfolio at the City East Campus. The role sits within a program designed to strengthen career readiness for women and non-binary students in STEM, expand professional networks, and support Adelaide University’s goals for an outstanding student experience and stronger graduate outcomes.
Adelaide University is building on its legacy with a focus on excellence, equity, innovation, and a student-centred future. The university values purpose-driven work, collaboration, authenticity, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
What you will do
You will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of the Women in STEM Careers (WiSC) program. The role is focused on helping eligible students build leadership, entrepreneurship, confidence, communication, resilience, opportunity awareness, and career readiness, while also strengthening connections across the women in STEM cohort and with industry partners.
You will coordinate program planning, student recruitment, enquiries from students and employers, event and activity planning and delivery, stakeholder communication, reporting, and other day-to-day program support. A key part of the role is also continuously improving the program and contributing to its strategic direction.
In addition, you will be responsible for securing financial sponsorship for the program and managing sponsor relationships so that deliverables are met and meaningful student-industry engagement opportunities are created.
Team and working environment
You will report to the Manager, Industry Engagement and collaborate with students, alumni, academic staff, professional staff, industry partners, sponsors, event suppliers, and colleagues across the wider External Engagement Portfolio.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety, meeting new people, and building strong stakeholder relationships.
Experience and skills
To succeed in this role, you should bring experience in student- or customer-facing service delivery, event coordination from planning through to completion, business development and stakeholder relationship management, sponsorship management, and program coordination and evaluation with limited direction. Strong communication, interpersonal ability, and digital confidence with complex systems are also important.
Inclusion and workplace support
Adelaide University is committed to an inclusive, diverse, and respectful workplace. Flexible working arrangements are supported, and reasonable adjustments are available during recruitment. Applications are strongly encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and people of all ages, genders, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Application details
Applicants are asked to submit a current CV and a cover letter explaining their interest in the role. The closing date is 11:55pm on Wednesday 15 July 2026, although the university may close the advertisement earlier if a suitable candidate is found.
