Compass International School Doha was founded in 2006 to offer a high-quality British education to expatriate and Qatari families. The school operates three campuses: Al Themaid and Madinat Khalifa serve learners from Early Years to Secondary, and all campuses deliver a tailored British curriculum. Secondary students can choose from a broad selection of IGCSEs, AS levels, A levels, and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13. The school is known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong teaching team, and community-focused culture.

The school is accredited by Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA) and is affiliated with the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), COBIS, and AoBSO.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and energetic Whole School Performing Arts Teacher to shape and strengthen performing arts across the school. The position involves working across campuses and age groups to deliver a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, while helping students grow in confidence, ambition, and achievement through innovative teaching.

The role will also contribute to major productions, concerts, showcases, and wider community performances, supporting the continued growth of a vibrant performing arts programme.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop performing arts provision across the whole school.
  • Teach in a way that inspires high expectations, creativity, and active participation.
  • Use fresh and effective teaching approaches to improve student learning and outcomes.
  • Support school productions, concerts, showcases, and community events.
  • Work collaboratively across campuses and age phases to build a connected performing arts culture.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where students are supported, stretched, and motivated.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners with different starting points and abilities.
  • Develop language, literacy, and communication skills through your teaching, including support for EAL learners.
  • Promote the subject through enrichment, visitors, visits, and after-school activities.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community and engage with parents and stakeholders.
  • Share best practice, welcome feedback, and adapt to change.

Candidate Profile

The school is looking for a teacher who can bring energy, confidence, and strong communication to the classroom. You should be able to build an engaging learning environment and help students believe they can achieve more than they thought possible.

You will need to teach with an inclusive mindset, particularly for students learning English as an additional language, and you should be able to plan for mixed abilities and individual progress. A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach is important, along with the ability to represent the school positively within the Nord Anglia Education community.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A university degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Music, or another relevant specialist subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or PDGE.
  • Teaching experience in the UK and/or an international setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum relevant to the subject.
  • Fluent English at native or near-native level.
  • A Master’s degree or further professional development is preferred.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong values, integrity, and honesty.
  • Dependability, loyalty, and commitment.
  • Confidence and a professional presence.
  • Positive energy and a can-do attitude.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Respectful, culturally aware, and approachable.
  • Good humour and composure under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent time management and organisation.
  • Flexibility and comfort with uncertainty.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit an online application through the Nord Anglia Education careers page. The application should include a CV, a two-page letter of application, and contact details for three professional referees, including one School Principal.

Visa and Eligibility Notes

To meet Qatar visa requirements, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification completed through an in-person, non-online course.

Start Date and Selection

The expected start date is 1 August 2026. Applications close on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The school may appoint before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Benefits
