About the Role

Pakistan Association Dubai is looking for a caring, well-informed Welfare Officer to help address community welfare needs. This position focuses on delivering empathetic support to individuals and families while making sure every welfare activity follows Islamic principles and Shariah guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review welfare applications from qualified community members and process them according to Shariah-compliant criteria.
  • Oversee the collection, distribution, and release of Zakat funds in line with Islamic rulings.
  • Offer guidance, support, and counseling to beneficiaries seeking welfare assistance.
  • Deal with sensitive cases calmly and professionally, with discretion, patience, and empathy.
  • Keep complete and accurate documentation of welfare cases and related financial activity.
  • Draft regular reports on welfare operations for management review.
  • Make sure all welfare programs remain aligned with UAE regulations and Islamic ethical standards.
  • Assist with community outreach efforts and welfare awareness programs whenever needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Islamic Studies, Shariah, Islamic Jurisprudence, or another related Islamic field from a recognized institution. At least 1 year of relevant experience in welfare services, social work, community support, charitable work, or a comparable role is required.

Strong knowledge of Shariah principles, Fiqh, and Islamic jurisprudence as they relate to welfare and finance is essential. The role also requires a clear understanding of Zakat rules, eligibility standards, and distribution procedures.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with the maturity to manage delicate situations diplomatically. A soft-spoken, patient, and compassionate approach is important, together with a sincere commitment to serving the community.

Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic and Urdu will be considered an advantage. Good organizational ability, careful record keeping, strong integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds are also important.
