About the role
Portico is looking for a polished, self-starting Welcome Host to be the main front-of-house contact for residents, guests, and visitors at an upscale residential property in Soho, London. This is an independent role where you will own the reception experience and help keep daily operations running efficiently.
What you'll do
- Greet residents, guests, and visitors in a warm, professional manner.
- Develop good relationships with residents and remember frequent visitors.
- Support everyday needs such as arranging taxis, making reservations, handling deliveries, and giving directions.
- Keep visitor records up to date and help maintain site security procedures.
- Manage access control and visitor entry processes.
- Work alongside building management and facilities teams to flag problems and support maintenance requests.
- Respond to questions, concerns, and requests calmly, tactfully, and with good judgment.
- Handle general reception and admin tasks to support the smooth running of the building.
Working hours
This role is for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Pay
The salary range is £32,000 to £35,000 per year.
What we're looking for
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
- Experience in customer service or a front-of-house/reception setting.
- The ability to stay composed and effective during busy morning rush periods.
- Confidence working on your own during quieter afternoon periods.
- Comfort handling a demanding client group with high expectations.
- A valid SIA licence, or willingness to obtain one.
