Position Overview

As a Water Treatment Scientist based primarily in the Galway/Athlone region, you will service water treatment sites across Connacht, the midlands, and Dublin. Reporting to the Operations Leader, and collaborating closely with Account Managers and operations teams, you'll be charged with meeting objectives safely and efficiently while managing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite water sampling, testing, and reporting under defined commercial agreements.
  • Deliver comprehensive water service plans monthly, quarterly, and annually, collaborating with Account Managers to ensure adequate coverage during absences.
  • Perform Legionella sampling following best practices ensuring compliance with EHS and QEHS systems.
  • Consult customers on chemical treatments and basic technical water treatment system concepts.
  • Produce timely Consultant Service Reports outlining observations, consequences, and necessary actions for customer review.
  • Maintain routine calibration and preventative maintenance of both proprietary and third-party equipment.
  • Operate and adjust dosing pumps based on onsite test results and safely prime equipment when needed.
  • Utilize digital platforms like WTS’s InSight for data visualization, trend monitoring, report generation, inventory management, issue escalation, and parameter adjustments.
  • Plan and organize site visits efficiently throughout each month, ensuring safety in chemical handling and storage procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably focused on Chemistry.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in water treatment.
  • Valid Irish driving license and flexibility to travel within assigned regions, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities with fluency in English.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with proficient computer skills, including Google Apps.

Work Environment and Location
