Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator - East Cork

About the Role

EPS Group is searching for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for a fixed-term contract lasting one year, based in the East Cork area. The candidate should possess a solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes. This position is within a multidisciplinary organization and welcomes applications from individuals experienced in related fields.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine operational and maintenance duties regularly at the plant.
• Carry out general maintenance work both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
• Monitor treatment processes, complete records accurately, and collect process samples.
• Engage in manual labor tasks periodically as required.
• Oversee process control, operate equipment, monitor systems, and conduct basic mechanical maintenance and repairs with full training provided.
• Maintain general cleanliness including washing plant equipment and grounds upkeep.
• Operate within a fully automated treatment process supported by a comprehensive control system; IT proficiency is important and training will be offered.
• Work independently at times adhering strictly to formal procedures and safe working practices.
• Exhibit flexibility in work hours, including availability for weekends and bank holidays when on call.
• Participate actively in a regular standby and call-out roster, with compensation for these duties.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in managing mechanical and electrical plant or machinery is advantageous.
• Resident near the site to guarantee timely access, holding a full clean driving license is mandatory.
