Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe based in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland. This full-time, onsite position involves hands-on management of the water and waste treatment plant to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous operational improvement.

Key Duties

• Manage operations of the effluent treatment plant to guarantee discharge meets EPA IEL and other regulatory licence requirements.
• Precisely measure, document, and report environmental metrics such as COD, BOD, pH, temperature, and flow for compliance purposes internally and externally.
• Develop, revise, and implement procedural guidelines for plant operation and process enhancements.
• Perform daily floor audits to uphold environmental management systems and minimize waste generation.
• Lead efforts aimed at reducing water consumption, optimizing chemical usage, and eliminating waste.
• Facilitate audits, participate in site inspections, and contribute to environmental performance reporting.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to foster innovative and practical operational improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial or waste and water treatment operations.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of ISO 14001 standards along with environmental regulations.
• Exhibit strong hands-on problem-solving skills and the capability to independently maintain equipment.
• Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare work instructions and reports effectively.
• Capable of autonomous work management with clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate within a team environment.
• Adopt a proactive and practical approach with a positive attitude towards challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• ECDL certification is considered an asset.
• Experience in Environmental Management System Internal Auditing would be advantageous.
