Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking dedicated Hygiene Operatives for night shifts on Team A and Team B at our Pilgrim's Europe site in Dungannon. This position encompasses tasks performed both inside the factory departments and outside areas. The operative will ensure all cleaning meets stringent hygiene standards detailed in our Hygiene Manual while also managing product processing duties aligned with hygiene, quality, and safety regulations.
Key Duties
- Conduct cleaning tasks adhering strictly to the cleaning manual and hygiene requirements.
- Dismantle and reassemble production machinery as part of cleaning routines.
- Identify and report any equipment damages promptly.
- Safely and efficiently operate cleaning machinery and other related equipment.
- Maintain personal safety and that of fellow workers at all times.
- Model exemplary behavior by complying with health and safety guidelines.
- Perform extended periods of standing and manage high pressure power hoses during cleaning.
- Participate in product processing as needed, always maintaining hygiene, food safety, and animal welfare standards.
- Ensure continuous safeguarding of food safety and product integrity.
- Complete any additional assigned duties necessary for operational success.
Working Hours
Team A:
- Week 1: Sunday 6:15pm to 5:15am; Monday to Wednesday 5:45pm to 5:15am
- Week 2: Sunday 6:15pm to 5:15am; Monday and Tuesday 5:45pm to 5:15am
Team B:
- Week 1: Thursday and Friday 5:45pm to 5:15am; Saturday 6:15pm to 5:15am
- Week 2: Wednesday to Friday 5:45pm to 5:15am; Saturday 6:15pm to 5:15am
Essential Requirements
- Basic literacy skills – able to read and write effectively.
- Competency in numeracy.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Clear thinking capabilities are critical.
- Proficiency in English relevant to the work area.

- Good manual dexterity.
- Capacity to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork.
- Awareness of food processing industry operations.
- Previous factory work experience.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with COSHH and health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals used in the facility.
