Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Warehouse Supervisor to manage and oversee the daily operations within our warehouse in Australia. This role requires a hands-on leader who will ensure accurate, safe, and efficient handling of inventory, staff management, and adherence to operational standards. The supervisor will work closely with multiple departments including logistics, procurement, supply chain, transport, sales, and operations to guarantee timely receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of products.

Key Duties

  • Oversee and supervise daily warehouse tasks such as receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatching activities.
  • Lead and mentor warehouse personnel to meet targets related to productivity, accuracy, safety, and customer service.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and adjust staffing to match operational demands.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and stocktaking to verify inventory accuracy and monitor stock movements.
  • Ensure proper unloading, inspection, and systematic storage of incoming goods.
  • Organize order preparation processes to meet delivery schedules and client expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Track warehouse performance indicators including productivity, order and inventory accuracy, and KPIs.
  • Address operational challenges such as stock discrepancies, damages, and delivery issues promptly.
  • Keep accurate records of warehouse operations including inventory, dispatch, and system data.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, barcode scanners, and related technology to streamline tasks.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure optimal stock levels and smooth inventory flow.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers for delivery, collection, and dispatch scheduling.
  • Promote workplace organization, proper equipment usage, and high safety standards.
  • Participate in workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
  • Identify and implement improvements in warehouse layout, procedures, inventory control, productivity, and cost management.
  • Prepare operational and performance reports regularly to inform stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, efficiency, service quality, and overall supply chain effectiveness.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain processes.
  • Previous experience in supervising warehouse teams and managing operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms, inventory tracking technology, and barcode scanners.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations specific to warehouse environments, including manual handling and risk management.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills to engage warehouse teams and cross-departmental collaborations.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical and efficient outcomes.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy and operational quality.
  • Ability to work autonomously while fostering teamwork with logistics, procurement, transportation, and operations groups.
  • Professionalism, accountability, and dedication to safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or extended hours as operationally required.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain management are preferred.
  • Certifications such as forklift operation or warehouse safety are advantageous.
