Role overview

Sanmina is hiring a Warehouse Operative for its Materials department in Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role reports to the Warehouse Lead or Warehouse Manager and supports the movement, storage, and dispatch of materials that keep production and customer deliveries running smoothly.

About the site

The Fermoy facility is FDA registered and certified to ISO13485:2016, and it manufactures high-quality PCBAs, subassemblies, and complete devices, including Class III medical devices. The site focuses on manufacturing automation and supports the full product journey from new product introduction, prototyping, and process validation through to large-scale manufacturing, testing, shipping, and repair. With 30 years of strong operational performance and customer service, the plant is supported by an experienced workforce. The company welcomes candidates from a variety of skills, backgrounds, and experience levels across functions such as engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Purpose of the role

  • Support the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse items, materials, and goods.
  • Ensure the correct quantity of stock is held in the right place to meet production and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept incoming deliveries of goods and supplies.
  • Inspect shipments for damage or missing items.
  • Store materials and products in the correct locations.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for outgoing dispatch.
  • Move stock manually or with lifting equipment, including forklift trucks.
  • Load goods ready for dispatch.
  • Deliver materials to production lines in line with production standards.
  • Enter stock and inventory details into a computerized system.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and supporting paperwork.
  • Carry out stock counts when required.
  • Keep documentation current and organized.
  • Follow safe manual handling practices for all lifting and movement of products.
  • Work safely in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements, protecting yourself and others.
  • Manage hazardous materials appropriately.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas to support efficiency.
  • Suggest improvements that increase efficiency and add value.
  • Maintain compliance with quality standards and industry regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation and regulations.

Performance measures

Performance will be measured against plant metrics and MBOs as part of the annual appraisal process.

Qualifications and experience

  • QQI Level 5 qualification completed.
  • Comfortable using computers.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Able to complete paperwork accurately and count stock items carefully.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods handling and aviation security.
  • Valid forklift licence.
  • Experience using Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Prior warehouse experience.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience is an advantage.
