Role overview
This 12-month fixed-term Security Officer position is based in Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland, within the Human Resources Department and reports to the Security Lead. The role exists to safeguard the business and its property from physical threats and any unauthorised removal of company assets.
Key responsibilities
- Control access to the site and stop unauthorised entry.
- Support fire evacuation procedures and other emergency exercises, following the applicable standard operating procedures.
- Protect company property from unauthorised removal.
- Conduct searches when requested or when required.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and pass them on to the relevant authorities where needed.
- Keep all logs truthful, complete, and up to date.
- Monitor the premises using internal camera systems and regular patrols.
- Handle telephone duties outside normal office hours.
- Perform weekly checks on the fire sprinkler system and fire alarm.
- Escort Supervisors and Team Leaders to stores when asked.
- Complete daily and night-time site patrols.
Candidate profile
- Prior experience in a security role is required.
- A college-level qualification in security studies would be beneficial.
- First aid certification would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers and how to use them is expected.
