Job description
Role overview
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Administrator to support the multidisciplinary team on Amber Ward, an older adults mixed-sex ward with 20 single en-suite rooms at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The post requires someone who communicates confidently, stays dependable and punctual, and works effectively as part of a team. The environment is fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable, so the successful person must remain calm, organised, and able to adapt while keeping care focused on the person and their recovery.
This position involves providing secretarial and administrative support to the ward. It would suit someone who is comfortable working in a busy office, can contribute as part of a team, and is also able to use their own initiative when needed.
You will be expected to communicate clearly with colleagues and service users at all levels, deliver strong customer service, and complete administrative work efficiently and accurately.
Team culture and development
The trust describes its staff as its greatest asset and aims to support people to develop their potential. The role comes with access to learning and development opportunities, along with routes for progression within the organisation.
Oxford Health delivers physical, mental health, and social care services across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, and North East Somerset through community bases, hospitals, clinics, and people’s homes. Its vision is to provide outstanding care through an outstanding team, guided by the values of caring, safe, and excellent.
Application guidance
If you have applied before, you should wait 6 months before sending another application.
Applicants are encouraged to read the candidate guide to making an application. When applying, include details of your qualifications, including the years they were achieved where relevant, especially if validation is needed for clinical-related checks. Your supporting statement should be tailored to the role and clearly address the essential criteria set out in the job description.
The trust welcomes applicants who may not meet every requirement but who have the motivation and values to succeed. If you are uncertain about applying, you are encouraged to contact the team for a discussion before submitting a written application.
