Role overview
Amplius is hiring an Estate Services Officer in Grimsby to help keep estates, schemes and empty homes safe, tidy and ready for residents. This role suits someone with solid handyperson experience who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and likes seeing the difference their efforts make every day.
The position is based in Grimsby and is offered on a permanent, full-time basis. The annual salary is £29,137.58.
Working pattern
You will work 37 hours per week: Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Key duties
- Maintain communal spaces so they remain clean, orderly and free of litter or graffiti.
- Complete small-scale repair and maintenance tasks in shared areas and residential properties.
- Escalate larger repair issues to the Works Supervisor and carry out follow-up work as directed.
- Inspect communal areas regularly and record or report any damage, defects or concerns.
- Perform fire alarm checks when needed and keep clear, accurate records.
- Get vacant homes ready for incoming customers by doing repairs, decorating and clearing rooms.
- Support the upkeep of properties by completing maintenance and void-related work within agreed deadlines.
What the role calls for
You should bring experience in handyperson work, including cleaning, maintenance, decorating or repair activities. Previous experience dealing with customers and delivering good service is also important.
Practical capability in painting, decorating, cleaning, basic joinery and minor plumbing repairs will help you succeed in this role. You should understand fire safety procedures, along with the importance of confidentiality and privacy.
Strong communication skills, accurate record-keeping, and a positive, dependable and approachable attitude are essential. The role also requires someone who can work on their own and as part of a wider team.
Essential requirements
DBS clearance, a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and the right to work in the UK are all mandatory. Sponsorship is not available.
