Position Overview: Waiter/Waitress
Jumeirah Emirates Towers invites experienced candidates to join its Food and Beverage Services team as Waiters/Waitresses. This role entails delivering exemplary service consistent with the property's Standard Operating Procedures, in both indoor and outdoor settings that may expose staff to challenging weather and conditions such as smoky environments. Shift patterns can include split shifts and late-night duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an effective communication bridge between kitchen and service areas to ensure smooth and timely food delivery.
- Provide prompt table and counter service for all menu offerings including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the food and beverage menu to assist guests with inquiries and provide informed recommendations.
- Guide guests through menu selections, highlighting ingredients, preparation, and appropriate pairings.
- Strictly adhere to food hygiene and safety standards in handling, storage, and preparation.
- Continuously monitor food and beverage quality, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
- Anticipate guest needs to enhance their dining experience proactively.
- Demonstrate expertise in beverage service, including correct use of stemware and garnishes.
- Manage dining area setup and perform opening and closing duties to maintain presentation standards.
- Address any guest concerns or incidents with professionalism to uphold the hotel’s reputation.
- Manage buffet stations and displays ensuring cleanliness, adequate stock, and presentation.
- Deliver professional service that respects guest comfort without excessive interruption.
- Respond promptly to operational issues to minimize guest disruption.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments when assistance is needed.
- Utilize up-selling techniques to promote premium items and enhance guest satisfaction.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum two years experience in a similar role within a luxury five-star hotel environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with hotel operating systems and demonstrated ability to exceed guest expectations.
- Fast learner with adaptability to dynamic hospitality settings.
- Qualification: Degree, Diploma or equivalent.
