Role overview

HSBC is hiring a VUL Development Specialist in Singapore. This position is focused on supporting the setup and improvement of custody and operational workflows linked to Variable Universal Life (VUL) business, with an emphasis on accuracy, governance, and process efficiency.

What you will do

  • Help build and run end-to-end custody management activities, including custodian onboarding, account setup, assessment of investment assets, and due diligence reviews.
  • Keep records, reports, and operational documentation current for both new VUL business and day-to-day processing.
  • Contribute to streamlining front-office and operational processes so work can move faster to market.
  • Assist in creating and overseeing operational reference documents such as playbooks and standard operating procedures for new business and ongoing support.
  • Take part in training internal teams on VUL procedures, custody requirements, and working practices.
  • Make sure custody and operational tasks follow relevant regulations as well as internal controls and policies.

What you need

  • Hands-on experience in life insurance, wealth management, or custody operations, ideally with exposure to Variable Universal Life products.
  • Background in improving processes and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Basic familiarity with Bloomberg is an advantage.
  • Ability to coordinate several stakeholders and manage multiple initiatives at the same time.
