Graduate Programme Overview

This is a two-year rotational program designed for recent graduates, providing hands-on training in a dynamic environment. It focuses on professional development and personalized growth, aiming to cultivate highly effective leaders within a market-leading global organization. The scheme includes leadership development alongside business-specific training.

Support and Development

• Mentoring Scheme: You will be assigned a senior mentor for career guidance and advice.
• Communication, Influencing and Business Partnering: This program enhances your ability to work effectively across the organization, challenging your thinking and developing your interpersonal style.
• Teamwork: We focus on developing your understanding of team dynamics and your impact on others through short courses and individual coaching.
• Job Rotations: Four six-month placements will offer specialized knowledge of our operations in various business areas, ensuring a strong start to your career. We tailor placement opportunities to your interests and aspirations.

Available Business Areas

• Global Banking and Markets: Focuses on building client partnerships and leveraging our global network to achieve consistent, long-term performance by understanding economic trends and international opportunities to develop products and services for governments, corporates, and institutions.
• Commercial Banking: Operates in approximately 60 countries, connecting businesses to opportunities in developed and developing markets through relationship managers to foster growth.
• Retail Banking and Wealth Management: Serves over 50 million customers globally, assisting them with daily finances and future savings. Opportunities range from customer service and relationship management to product development, sales, strategy, asset management, and insurance.
• HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST): Provides essential operational, IT, and technical support for the HSBC Group. This includes running customer service operations, developing banking software, managing IT infrastructure, implementing strategic changes, procurement, and managing corporate real estate.
• Global Functions (GF): Supports the bank's Global Businesses with career opportunities in legal, risk, finance, human resources, sustainability, marketing, and communications, ensuring efficient operations and effective controls.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Familiarity with international business and diverse industry sectors.
• Experience or understanding of working within a global context.
• Proficiency in teamwork, fostering cooperation and trust.
• Possession of analytical and financial acumen.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management capabilities.
• Demonstrated decision-making ability.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
