Job description

About the Role

zerohash seeks a Vice President or Senior Vice President to lead the Business Operations function, fostering speed, precision, and cross-team collaboration to enhance decision-making and company growth. This senior leadership position will establish and scale this department from the ground up, reporting directly to executive leaders.

Reporting responsibilities include managing five core areas: business intelligence, AI deployment within operations, procurement processes, new product and market evaluation, and organizational structure along with operating efficiency. The role requires close collaboration with Finance, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams and frequent presentations to the executive board.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and develop the central Business Intelligence system with integrated reporting, KPI frameworks, and dashboards offering real-time, accurate insights for senior management and the board.
  • Align with Finance, Sales, and Product teams to establish key metrics that unify data sources into one consistent truth.
  • Convert analytical data into strategic decisions by proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership beyond basic retrospective reporting.
  • Lead the company-wide adoption of AI tools and systems; manage evaluation, piloting, change management, and organizational adoption.
  • Spot high-impact AI use cases within support, compliance, engineering, and operations; develop business cases, implementation sequences, and governance guidelines for these initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Security, and Legal departments to ensure rapid yet responsible AI integration.
  • Establish a formal procurement department handling vendor onboarding, evaluation, contract negotiations, expenditure tracking, and approval processes.
  • Promote cost-efficiency and analyze vendor consolidation across software, infrastructure, and professional services while maintaining operational momentum.
  • Work closely with Legal and Finance on contracts, renewals, and vendor risk mitigation.
  • Conduct market sizing analyses, competitive research, and opportunity assessments for new products, sectors, and regions.
  • Provide robust analytical frameworks supporting key strategic decisions including pricing models, entry strategies, and build-versus-partner-versus-buy considerations.
  • Discover growth opportunities within existing partner and client profiles such as cross-selling, upselling, and expansion into new verticals or geographic areas.
  • Collaborate with Product and Commercial leaders to translate market insights into actionable product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
  • Support leadership with headcount planning, organizational structure optimization, and metrics on organizational health to ensure scalable growth.
  • Design and improve processes for scaling operational functions like support, onboarding, and other workflows adaptable to rising volume and complexity.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive leadership experience in business operations, strategic planning, or corporate development roles.
  • At least 5 to 8 years of experience specifically within FinTech; direct experience with cryptocurrency, digital assets, payments, or banking/brokerage infrastructure is highly valuable.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing new teams and operational systems from scratch rather than solely managing existing structures.
  • Strong analytical abilities combined with comfort managing ambiguity; capable of delivering board-level presentations alongside detailed hands-on data work.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide AI or significant technology implementation within a business environment at scale.
  • Proven expertise in vendor negotiations and effective procurement strategies.
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage with C-suite executives and boards.
  • Must be based in the United States with willingness to travel to various office locations.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage with nearly full premium payment for employees; partial coverage for dependents within the U.S.
  • Vision and dental insurance available in the U.S.
  • Opportunity to earn equity in the company.
  • Maternity and paternity leave benefits available after six months of employment.
  • Access to WeWork All Access membership.
  • Annual stipend for remote work-related expenses.
  • Learning and Development stipend provided yearly after six months with the company.
