About the Organization

As a key player in Asia's financial landscape, UOB is renowned for its extensive regional presence and an 80-year legacy built on values-driven service. Their commitment to integrity, collaboration, and progress informs every aspect of their business.

Role Overview

The VP2, Wholesale Operational Readiness Support, is integral to the Wholesale Operational Readiness Centre (WORC) at UOB. The role emphasizes seamless technology and process transitions associated with Cash, Payments, Trade, Loans, and Channels Operations, with a concentrated focus on user acceptance testing (UAT) and operational readiness for Cash Management and Payments processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and functional documentation, particularly those linked to cash and payment workflows.
  • Develop comprehensive UAT test cases (using TOSCA or similar tools) spanning SWIFT MT/MX messages, ISO 20022 standards, and relevant mapping requirements.
  • Ensure traceability between specs and test cases, and conduct stakeholder walkthroughs for validation and feedback.
  • Identify automatable testing scenarios and collaborate with the automation team to increase test coverage.
  • Lead both manual and automated UAT execution, monitoring progress and defect resolution processes.
  • Review UAT metrics, report outcomes, and provide recommendations on go-live operational readiness.
  • Apply payments and cash operations expertise to validate SWIFT messages, payment mapping, schema, and compliance (including CBPR+).
  • Work cross-functionally with product, technology, and operations to address issues and readiness gaps, including for platform migrations and enhancements.
  • Deliver operational support for new system rollouts or payment platform changes, including conducting training sessions and preparing documentation.
  • Produce management reports per the company’s Software Development Framework (SDF).

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 years’ professional background in financial institutions, ideally with deep exposure to Cash Management or Payments Operations.
  • Proficiency with SWIFT standards (MT & MX), ISO 20022 formats, CBPR+, and international payments processing.
  • Significant exposure to testing practices: planning, execution, and defect management in UAT environments.
  • Practical experience with TOSCA or comparable enterprise testing platforms.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools as an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous documentation, and adept problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present findings to leadership stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving initiatives to completion.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership.
  • Excellent relationship-building ability across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mature leadership and stakeholder management skills.
