Role overview
This position is for a seasoned technology leader who will own the IT direction for a growing transportation business based in Orlando, Florida. The role centers on improving the technology landscape, strengthening service delivery, and driving secure, scalable innovation that supports the company’s expansion. The successful candidate will combine executive leadership, operational discipline, cybersecurity oversight, and an ability to turn new technologies into real business outcomes.
What you'll do
- Define and execute a long-range technology roadmap that aligns with business objectives while also solving immediate operational challenges.
- Oversee day-to-day enterprise IT across infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud services, software platforms, and employee technology support.
- Build and mentor technology teams by setting clear standards, reinforcing attention to detail, and fostering a high-performance environment.
- Implement strong IT service management processes, including support workflows, incident response, and formal change management.
- Improve cybersecurity governance and reduce risk through robust policies, controls, and oversight of compliance requirements.
- Identify and introduce artificial intelligence, automation, and other emerging tools that can increase efficiency and improve decision-making.
- Develop practical approaches that help teams use AI responsibly while building internal awareness of digital capabilities.
- Review new technology opportunities, lead pilot efforts, and advise on investments that can deliver operational or competitive advantage.
- Work closely with business leaders to ensure technology priorities support overall strategy and dependable service across departments.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, with a minimum of 3 years at the senior executive or VP level.
- Strong expertise in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
- Proven track record of leading AI, automation, or large-scale digital transformation programs from planning through delivery.
- Solid experience managing core infrastructure such as cloud environments, networking, hardware, and enterprise systems.
- Practical knowledge of AWS and Cisco in a complex business setting.
- Working understanding of IT service management practices and Agile or Scrum-based delivery methods.
- Ability to shift between strategic planning and hands-on operational leadership in a fast-paced organization.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10%.
