Job description

Position Overview

We seek a seasoned Vice President of Operations to oversee plant performance and champion operational excellence at our manufacturing facility. This leadership role involves managing daily production activities, fostering a culture of accountability, and facilitating cross-department collaboration across the site. The role also contributes to key human resources functions ensuring compliance and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving departments to ensure streamlined and consistent processes.
  • Lead and mentor operational managers, establishing clear objectives and supporting their professional growth.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by supervising environmental and safety standards as well as employee training programs.
  • Acquire in-depth familiarity with processing methods and utilize operational software such as Dynamics 365 to track performance and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Analyze production outputs, equipment utilization, and material processing data to detect trends and enhance plant efficiency.
  • Coordinate rapid response to machinery failures by collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to minimize operational interruptions.
  • Maintain high standards of plant floor organization, cleanliness, workflow, and housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with administrative, commercial, accounting, and IT departments to support overall business processes and resolve challenges.
  • Assist in recruitment activities including posting job ads, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Support HR-related tasks by maintaining confidential employee records, managing training documentation, facilitating benefits communication, and promoting employee engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in operations management within manufacturing, processing, or plant environments.
  • Strong expertise overseeing production, warehouse, or plant floor activities.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead managers and enforce accountability across diverse functional teams.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, environmental regulations, and training best practices.
  • Experience with operational software systems for performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze operational data to drive continuous process improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with operations, administration, finance, IT, and HR departments.
  • Competence in supporting recruitment, employee record management, and training coordination within a dynamic environment.
