Job description

About Citylitics

Citylitics builds predictive intelligence that helps organizations understand where, how, and why infrastructure spending will happen across North America. Its focus spans the core systems that support everyday life, including water, transportation, transit, roads and highways, broadband, and power. This sits within a multi-trillion-dollar market and reflects a long-term trend expected to shape North America for decades.

The company converts millions of documents from more than 40,000 cities, utilities, and public agencies into live market signals and high-value sales intelligence. Infrastructure vendors, engineering firms, and construction companies use the platform to spot major opportunities earlier, build relationships, influence project direction, and shape scope before formal procurement begins.

Citylitics combines AI agents, specialized models, a proprietary infrastructure signals graph, and daily human quality checks to produce detailed and dependable sales intelligence. The platform also connects with CRMs, ERPs, and data lakes so teams can act on insights directly inside their sales workflows.

The company’s mission is to improve how infrastructure investments are made so critical needs can be addressed sooner and communities can benefit from stronger, more resilient infrastructure.

Role Overview

Citylitics is hiring a Vice President of Sales to drive aggressive revenue growth and own net-new ARR targets. The person in this role will be responsible for building a repeatable and predictable sales engine, hiring and developing strong Account Executives and BDRs, and strengthening the enterprise and mid-market motions. The role is central to positioning Citylitics as the category leader in predictive sales intelligence for public infrastructure.

This is a senior leadership position reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board. It requires an in-office presence four days per week at the Toronto headquarters.

The vacancy is currently active and Citylitics is looking to fill it.

What You Will Do

  • Set up operating rhythms and daily performance metrics that monitor pipeline health, renewal risk, expansion opportunities, and revenue outcomes.
  • Create and improve scalable playbooks, qualification standards, account planning methods, and lifecycle processes that keep commercial execution consistent and support stronger Net Revenue Retention.
  • Refine the company’s sales story, messaging, and talk tracks so they clearly separate Citylitics from competitors, build urgency, and connect to customer priorities and measurable results.
  • Introduce disciplined whitespace analysis, account expansion planning, and expansion pipeline reviews to improve ownership and convert customer opportunities into recurring growth.
  • Lead a high-performing commercial team across Account Executives and Account Managers with clear accountability for new ARR, renewals, expansions, and NRR.
  • Build a coaching-led culture centered on deal reviews, account planning, performance management, transparency, and operational discipline.
  • Spot skill gaps, mentor team members, and develop a group that can win complex deals and grow strategic accounts.
  • Deliver steady growth in net-new ARR while meeting renewal, expansion, and NRR targets.
  • Oversee sales execution closely so Account Executives and Account Managers carry out strong discovery, develop trusted relationships, and present proposals, renewal terms, and expansion contracts that improve win and retention rates.
  • Launch training, onboarding, and coaching programs that help Account Executives and Account Managers reach full productivity quickly and sustain strong performance.
  • Guide strategy for complex new-logo, renewal, and expansion deals that involve multiple stakeholders and demanding growth targets.
  • Work with Marketing, Delivery, and Product to keep go-to-market efforts aligned, maintain continuity across the customer lifecycle, and create useful feedback loops.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of sales leadership experience, including at least 10+ years at VP or SVP level, with a track record of scaling and strengthening sales and account management teams.
  • Proven history of exceeding targets, including repeated quota attainment and the ability to lead teams to outperform net-new ARR, expansion ARR, renewal, and Net Revenue Retention goals.
  • Direct leadership experience with both Account Executives and Account Managers, or an equivalent revenue organization covering the full customer lifecycle.
  • Strong ability to manage and close complex opportunities with multiple stakeholders, including executives, technical buyers, and procurement teams, across new business, renewals, and expansions.
  • Skill in developing persuasive sales narratives, messaging structures, and talk tracks that highlight differentiation, create urgency, and tie customer pain points to outcomes.
  • Experience in public infrastructure, GovTech, Construction Tech, or data- and AI-oriented markets is a strong plus.
  • Deep knowledge of sales approaches such as MEDDIC, Challenger, or Sandler, along with strong forecasting discipline, pipeline governance, and deal inspection practices.
  • Experience building disciplined operating rhythms and forecasting across new business, renewals, expansion pipeline, and Net Revenue Retention.
  • Ability to implement whitespace analysis, account growth planning, renewal management, and expansion reviews that drive consistent growth.
  • Comfort using modern revenue tools, including CRM, sales intelligence, and forecasting platforms, with a strong focus on data hygiene and accountability.
  • Proven ability to partner with Marketing, Product, and Delivery to create a unified go-to-market engine and preserve continuity through the customer lifecycle.
  • Strong leadership presence with high emotional intelligence, able to motivate, coach, and develop a team while driving performance and accountability.
  • Resourceful, competitive, and highly focused on winning new customers, retaining existing ones, and expanding strategic accounts.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to help shape progress in one of the major societal challenges of our time: sustainable public infrastructure.
  • A chance to represent a disruptive solution with a strong value proposition in a market that is eager for change and has no direct competitor.
  • Work at the intersection of infrastructure, scaling software, and data science/AI, within a team that is unique in Toronto.
  • A highly agile environment with little corporate bureaucracy, where you can achieve in months what may take years at a larger established tech company.
  • Access to generative AI tools and the company’s full Data Universe to support productivity, experimentation, and innovation.
  • A collaborative culture that values hard work, teamwork, shared wins, and celebrating progress along the way.

Equal Opportunity

Citylitics is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing a safe workplace where everyone is welcomed, respected, and given the chance to grow. Diversity and inclusion are central to the company’s culture.
