Role overview
This leadership position is responsible for setting and running Trustpilot’s worldwide communications agenda during a period of major growth and change. The role reports to the Chief Customer Officer and carries end-to-end ownership across corporate, consumer, and B2B communications, with a strong focus on reputation, brand development, and positioning Trustpilot as a trusted voice in transparency, integrity, and consumer advocacy.
The role sits at the centre of corporate reputation, media relations, issue handling, crisis response, and communication innovation. It also includes responsibility for modernising the function through AI and emerging technologies to improve insight, speed, and effectiveness.
What you will do
- Design and execute a global communications strategy that enhances Trustpilot’s reputation and reinforces its position in trust, transparency, and consumer advocacy.
- Develop compelling storytelling and thought leadership across earned and owned media to strengthen global visibility.
- Advise senior leaders on reputation, external messaging, and communications risk in a publicly listed UK business.
- Own the company’s crisis communications approach and manage sensitive issues with clarity and confidence.
- Lead integrated consumer and B2B brand-building communications that raise awareness and sharpen the business value proposition.
- Promote the use of AI and new technologies to improve communications insight, productivity, and impact.
- Build, coach, and guide a high-performing global communications team.
- Partner with Marketing, Product, Legal, Investor Relations, Public Affairs, Customer, and People teams to align messaging with business goals.
- Oversee external agencies and communications budgets, balancing effectiveness with efficient spend.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is an accomplished communications leader with deep experience in global communications within a UK-listed or US-listed company. They will bring strong storytelling ability, sound judgment in high-pressure situations, and a proven track record of shaping reputation across corporate, consumer, and B2B audiences.
This person should be comfortable working in a highly scrutinised environment, be curious about how AI can improve the communications function, and bring a balanced perspective from both agency and in-house experience. They should also be a confident influencer, a pragmatic operator, and someone who can create strong team culture and deliver measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Substantial experience leading communications for a global organisation that is publicly listed in the UK or US.
- Experience building and protecting brand reputation through strategic messaging and narrative development.
- Hands-on leadership across corporate, consumer, and B2B communications.
- Confidence managing crisis situations, reputational risks, and other high-pressure issues.
- Interest in and openness to using AI and modern technologies to improve communication work.
- Exposure to both agency-side and in-house communications environments.
- Ability to build high-performing teams with clear expectations and strong accountability.
- Commercial awareness and a practical approach to prioritising investment for impact.
