Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Global Senior Director of Global Markets, the Vice President of Finance for US and Canada acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership. This executive drives commercial strategies and oversees financial performance across all market channels and product categories. The position is responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, reporting, and ensuring operational and governance excellence throughout the market region. Leadership over finance functions is key to advancing business growth, profitability, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full CFO duties including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, FP&A, treasury, tax, risk, and investment evaluations for US & Canada markets.
  • Collaborate with US leadership to craft commercial strategies that encourage growth fueled by thorough financial planning.
  • Co-lead profit and loss accountability with the Market General Manager, converting strategic plans into measurable financial outcomes by managing risks and driving performance.
  • Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Ensure accounting and reporting adhere to local GAAP, statutory regulations, and internal governance standards.
  • Lead initiatives for cost optimization, operational efficiency, and procurement best practices across the region.
  • Provide insightful, data-driven financial analyses and narratives to stakeholders at both regional and global levels.
  • Enhance financial discipline by developing team capabilities and conducting continuous training across commercial teams.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performance finance team, encouraging professional growth and cross-region mobility.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, banking institutions, and key external parties.
  • Optimize capital allocation, assess strategic investments, and support decisions related to retail, media, and brand investments to maximize financial returns.
  • Promote strong cooperation among global, regional, and local stakeholders to maintain alignment with governance, compliance, and operational objectives.
  • Monitor competitive market dynamics, challenge conventional approaches, and introduce innovative financial strategies to sustain market edge.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees such as an MBA, or professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA) are highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • At least 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or senior business roles, including multinational exposure.
  • Minimum 5 years in senior management or director-level positions with P&L accountability and leadership over teams and executive stakeholder interactions.
  • Proven expertise in P&L management, budgeting processes, and commercial finance strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key financial drivers, contract management, and retail sector fundamentals including trade terms and promotional activities.
  • Experience in driving cost-saving initiatives, transforming processes, and instituting governance standards.
  • Skilled in external representation of the company and cross-functional collaboration at senior levels.
  • Strong communication, influence, and interpersonal abilities capable of motivating teams in matrix organizational structures.
  • Resilience, decisive action-taking, strategic insight, and capacity to engage both detailed and big-picture perspectives.
  • Demonstrated capability to inspire, cultivate, and lead diverse teams locally and regionally.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary ranges from $325,000 to $375,000 with additional bonus opportunities.
