VP / Director, Education Private Equity

About the client

The employer is an established international private equity platform focused on education, operating from Doha, Qatar. It sits within a broader financial services group and is known for a collaborative team environment. The business is seeking to add a VP / Director to its existing investment team.

Role overview

This position is based in Doha and requires a full relocation to Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the full investment lifecycle, including opportunity sourcing, analytical work, deal execution, due diligence, financial modelling, and preparing investment presentations and materials.
• Join discussions and meetings with senior leaders and management teams of portfolio or target companies.
• Oversee and mentor direct team members such as Associates and Senior Associates.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships across the education and investment ecosystem.
• Shape, guide, and manage the education fund’s overall portfolio strategy so it remains aligned with fund objectives, risk tolerance, and return expectations.
• Contribute to fundraising and capital-raising initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio financial performance to support attractive returns while keeping risk under control.
• Create and roll out approaches for tracking and communicating the fund’s social and educational impact.

Candidate profile

The ideal hire should bring prior M&A experience from a leading investment bank and/or experience with an education-focused private equity fund. A strong interest in education, especially the K-12 segment, is important. The role also calls for the ability to coach and lead analysts and associates, along with a readiness to relocate to Doha.
