Job description

About Anatomage

Anatomage is a healthcare technology company established in 2004. The company is known for developing 3D software for anatomy and physiology learning, including a life-sized virtual dissection platform used in education.

Role Overview

The Visual Effects Animation Artist will play a key creative role in building real-time simulations and visual effects. This position calls for a broad 3D generalist background, including modeling, texturing, and lighting, with a strong emphasis on producing high-quality visual effects and believable animation.

What You Will Work On

  • Use 3D generalist capabilities across modeling, texturing, and lighting to build digital environments.
  • Bring environments to life through real-time simulation and character animation workflows in Unreal Engine.
  • Create scientifically precise effects using Niagara and Houdini.
  • Develop rigging and animation for MetaHumans.
  • Contribute across both VFX and character animation areas, delivering polished assets that are optimized for interactive platforms.

Required Background

Candidates should have a solid foundation in 3D production tools such as Maya, Blender, or Substance Painter, with the ability to handle modeling, texturing, and lighting for environments. In addition, the role requires practical, in-depth experience in at least one of the following areas: real-time VFX using Niagara, Blueprints, or Houdini simulation workflows, or advanced character rigging and animation fundamentals, including experience with MetaHumans. A combination of both specializations is highly desirable. Strong organization, artistic sensitivity, and careful attention to detail are essential.

Education and Experience

Formal study in Art, Digital Arts, 3D Modeling, Animation, Medical Illustration, or a closely related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience supported by a strong portfolio may also be accepted. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in real-time VFX or animation is required.

Application Materials

A resume and portfolio are mandatory for consideration.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
  • Casual workplace culture
  • Commuter benefits
  • On-site gym access
  • Team-building events, catered lunches, and complimentary snacks

Additional Information

Anatomage has shown financial stability and growth for 20 consecutive years. The company offers the world’s first and only life-sized virtual dissection table, helping students learn anatomy and physiology through highly interactive and accurate human-based digital data. Many schools use the Anatomage Table as their primary teaching tool, enabling high-quality education without the challenges of chemicals, facility expenses, and regulatory concerns.

The organization values collaboration across technical, clinical, and artistic backgrounds and promotes a workplace where people can learn from one another and grow with the company. Employees are encouraged to expand their responsibilities and develop their careers in a dynamic environment.

Compensation and Hiring Notes

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, performance, and location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive compensation, though it is not guaranteed. This pay range applies only to U.S. locations and does not apply outside the U.S. Local candidates are preferred, and H1B sponsorship is not available.
