Role Overview

Josie Maran is a clean beauty brand built on the idea that premium products and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. As the company grows into a more social-led, community-focused brand, it is hiring a Social Content Designer & Producer to turn campaigns, brand narratives, and creative direction into compelling content across social channels.

This role calls for a highly adaptable creative who can think like a designer, editor, content creator, and producer all at once. The right person will know how to transform campaign ideas into platform-specific content that feels native to each channel, connects with audiences, and supports engagement goals.

The position is remote and reports to the VP of Communications & Social. Compensation starts at $85k and is dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt campaign ideas and brand storytelling into content formats built specifically for social media.
  • Turn brand messaging and product details into engaging assets tailored to each platform.
  • Create, edit, and produce content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts, and new or emerging channels.
  • Keep the brand’s visual identity consistent while adjusting creative execution for different audiences and platforms.
  • Develop short-form video and static posts from concept through final publish-ready output.
  • Record and edit founder-led content, behind-the-scenes coverage, event moments, and timely social stories.
  • Produce lo-fi, creator-style, and trend-based content that feels authentic and native to the platform.
  • Work closely with the social team to rapidly create assets that support launches, campaigns, and community initiatives.
  • Review, improve, and repurpose creator-made and user-generated content for brand use.
  • Make sure creator and UGC assets remain aligned with brand standards while preserving authenticity.
  • Edit creator content so it performs well and encourages engagement on social channels.
  • Support the development of creator briefs and related content deliverables when needed.
  • Maintain consistency across social touchpoints while balancing speed, quality, and relevance.
  • Stay current on trends, new content formats, platform changes, and best practices in social storytelling.
  • Look for opportunities to improve content performance through testing and iteration.
  • Help build efficient workflows for producing large volumes of content quickly.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Social & Community and the Social Media & Community Manager to execute social strategy.
  • Partner with the Campaign Strategist to convert campaign ideas into social content executions.
  • Coordinate with the Creative Studio, including Art Directors and Designers, so social work aligns with broader brand campaigns.
  • Support Creator, Marketing, eCommerce, and Brand teams to help meet business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in social content creation, content design, digital creative, or content production.
  • A strong portfolio showing short-form video work, editing skills, content development, and platform-native storytelling.
  • Experience in beauty, fashion, lifestyle, wellness, or founder-led brands is preferred.
  • Advanced ability with editing and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere, Canva, Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging social channels.
  • Experience working with creator content and user-generated content ecosystems.
  • Excellent visual storytelling ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working quickly, managing several priorities, and succeeding in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
