Role summary

This 12-month fixed-term opportunity sits within the Visual team and supports both visual merchandising and visual design activities. The position involves a wide mix of creative work across the store environment, including seasonal features and day-to-day presentation standards.

What you will do

You will contribute to the look and feel of the store by assisting with window concepts, large-scale festive installations, merchandising execution, and impactful in-store displays. The work is practical and varied, requiring adaptability, creativity, and strong attention to detail.

Your efforts will help keep every visual element aligned with the Ballantynes brand identity and maintain a polished, engaging shopping environment throughout the year, especially during signature seasonal periods.

Candidate profile

The ideal person will bring enthusiasm for design and visual merchandising, along with the ability to work well in a busy, physical setting. Experience in visual merchandising or another creative field would be an advantage, though it is not strictly required.

Additional information

This is a full-time fixed-term role for 12 months, with a Monday to Friday schedule. Extra hours may be needed during the Christmas installation period. The business may interview applicants as they apply, so the position could close before the advertised end date. Applicants must already have the right to work in New Zealand.

Travel and licence requirements

A full New Zealand driver’s licence is required. The role may also involve occasional overnight travel to Timaru.
