Job description
Role Overview
Technip Energies is looking for an Environmental Officer to join its on-site environment management team in Qatar. The position sits within a global engineering and technology business focused on the energy transition, with activities spanning LNG, hydrogen, ethylene, blue and green hydrogen, sustainable chemistry, and CO2 management.
This opportunity is part of a truly international workplace built around innovation, creativity, and teamwork. The assignment is reserved under VIE rules for candidates aged 18 to 28 who hold French or European nationality, in line with applicable regulations.
The start date is 1 October 2026 and the assignment length is 18 months.
Work Environment
The selected candidate will be based on site in Qatar and will support environmental activities across construction areas, including W9 and the camps.
Key Duties
- Support day-to-day composting operations, including handling food waste, dry matter, and compost, performing maturity checks, and logging the quantities produced.
- Carry out daily site observation rounds under the direction of the Environmental Supervisor, including both positive and negative observations, and join the weekly walk-throughs with the company team.
- Help with dust monitoring on site by operating measuring instruments and preparing reports.
- Assist with noise monitoring by using measurement equipment and documenting findings.
- Check safety data sheets in line with the Globally Harmonized System using internal software.
- In the coming months, support daily dewatering water analysis in the V-ditch by carrying out on-site tests such as pH, chlorine, and temperature.
- Maintain monthly records of energy and fuel consumption in Excel.
- Keep the daily observation register updated in Excel.
- Take part in bi-weekly housekeeping campaigns with the environmental team.
- Contribute to annual awareness campaigns such as Environment Day on 5 June, Clean Desert Day, and Clean Beach Day.
Candidate Profile
The role calls for a Master’s degree or engineering degree in Environmental Sciences, along with experience in the environmental field. Prior exposure to industrial hygiene and/or HSE management systems is also expected.
The person should have strong English skills, ideally fluent or professional level, and the ability to understand how construction projects operate along with their main site-related challenges.
The job requires someone who can complete both straightforward and more complex tasks within set timelines. Because the role involves handling composters and measuring devices, a certain degree of physical strength is necessary. A driving licence is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
