Job description
About the role
Catalyst Media is looking for a seasoned and adaptable Videographer and Content Creator to become part of its internal team. The position offers the chance to create across a broad and high-profile media and events lineup in Ireland, covering major public events, awards nights, private senior-leadership forums, and a prominent media brand.
The portfolio includes events such as Dublin Tech Summit, the European Motor Show, Business & Finance Awards, the Spider Awards, ESG Awards, DITA (Diversity Inclusion Tech Awards), FS Awards, as well as several exclusive C-suite gatherings each year. In addition to event coverage, the role spans company visits, editorial pieces, podcast and webinar production, and ongoing brand campaigns across Catalyst Media’s properties.
This is a lead creative position responsible for the full video pipeline: capturing live events, interviewing senior figures on camera, developing promotional content, and overseeing digital production from idea generation to final delivery. The role also involves bringing in and supervising interns or volunteers to support larger shoots.
The company is seeking someone with at least five years of relevant experience, strong technical production ability, and an interest in AI and emerging technologies that can improve creative workflows.
Event coverage
- Take charge of video capture at all events across the Catalyst Media portfolio, including the Dublin Tech Summit, European Motor Show, Business & Finance Awards, Spider Awards, ESG Awards, DITA Awards, FS Awards, and private C-suite events.
- Work with event and marketing teams in advance to design shoot plans, identify priority moments, and map out coverage needs.
- Handle camera, audio, and lighting equipment across different venues and event types, staying flexible and self-sufficient on location.
- For larger productions, guide the outsourced AV team so that usable stage audio and visuals are captured for later use.
- Record key event moments such as keynote talks, panel discussions, sponsor activations, networking scenes, and audience atmosphere.
- Bring in, brief, and supervise interns or volunteers to assist with event filming, while maintaining consistent output quality.
Showreels and honouree profile videos
- Create polished profile films for live events, including opening videos for award honourees and special guests across the awards programme, with around five to six pieces produced each year.
- Partner with editorial and event teams to research subjects, write scripts, and build storyboards that capture a person’s career, achievements, and industry relevance.
- Find, organise, and use archive footage, still images, press assets, and third-party material while following licensing rules, combining them with original footage to produce broadcast-quality videos.
- Use strong storytelling skills to turn individual career stories into concise, visually engaging, and emotionally resonant short-form content.
On-camera interviews and company visit content
- Film and conduct interviews with C-suite leaders, speakers, award winners, and other high-profile people, showing confidence, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal presence.
- Lead video production for company visits and partnership content, including corporate profile videos, thought-leadership interviews, and behind-the-scenes features.
Post-event editing and delivery
- Edit and deliver highlight reels, speaker clips, award ceremony edits, and recap videos in multiple formats for different platforms.
- Turn around social-ready assets within 24 to 48 hours after events, while also keeping longer edits on schedule.
- Keep the footage, photography, and final assets organised in a structured content library across the event and brand portfolio.
Marketing and promotional content
- Create campaign videos for all Catalyst Media brands, including event trailers, speaker announcements, ticket promotions, sponsor assets, and brand stories.
- Develop short-form assets tailored for LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Produce longer pieces for websites, YouTube, email campaigns, and editorial features.
- Work closely with marketing and editorial colleagues to ensure all material matches brand standards, campaign goals, and audience expectations.
Digital events, webinars, and podcasts
- Partner with the Content & Programme Director to manage end-to-end technical production and recording for webinars, virtual events, and podcast sessions, ensuring high-quality audio and video.
- Edit and prepare podcast and webinar recordings for release on the relevant distribution channels.
Essential experience and skills
- At least five years of professional experience in videography or video content production.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop, or an equivalent professional creative suite.
- Experience directing and filming interviews with executives, public figures, or other senior stakeholders.
- Ability to capture audio on location, mix sound, and balance audio in post-production.
- Strong grasp of lighting for events, interviews, and location-based filming.
- Demonstrated ability to manage several projects at once and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Experience recruiting, briefing, and supervising interns, volunteers, or junior production support.
- Clear communication and strong teamwork skills.
- Highly organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel for events when required.
Bonus skills
- Experience running webinars or podcasts using tools such as Zoom, StreamYard, Riverside.fm, or similar platforms.
- Drone or aerial filming certification such as RPAS, A2 CofC, or an equivalent qualification.
- Background in live streaming or broadcast production.
- Additional motion graphics and animation skills beyond After Effects, such as Cinema 4D, DaVinci Resolve Fusion, or Blender.
- Colour grading experience with DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri Colour.
- Interest in and knowledge of the tech, business, automotive, or financial services sectors.
- Comfort using G-Suite tools such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Photography capability for event launches or smaller events where a professional photographer is not available.
- Awareness of AI and new technology tools that can improve production speed, quality, and efficiency.
Why join
- Full-time permanent position with hybrid working, typically 2 to 3 days in the office.
- 21 days of annual leave.
- Office based in Dublin City Centre.
- Bike to work scheme.
- A varied creative role spanning events, campaigns, editorial work, and digital content.
- Space for creative input across the wider content portfolio.
- Opportunity to join a lively, fast-moving media company with a strong reputation in Ireland and internationally.
