About BJAK
BJAK builds advanced digital application platforms with a focus on helping businesses succeed while creating positive social impact through greater efficiency.
The company created the first and leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, helping digitize the insurance sector and now supporting more than 8 million users across the region.
As the business expands into new use cases, it continues to develop higher-quality applications in markets where AI is becoming increasingly embedded.
The team is highly capable, ambitious, and committed to strong engineering and product standards within a very flat organization. Everyone is expected to be practical, proactive, and directly involved in advancing the mission.
About the Role
This position is for a Video Editor focused on social media content and short-form storytelling. The role involves turning raw footage into engaging videos that attract attention, encourage interaction, and spark discussion across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, XHS, and X.
The ideal candidate should understand pacing, trends, and how each platform behaves, creating content that feels native, current, and aligned with the brand.
What You’ll Do
- Create and edit short-form videos tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and XHS.
- Build compelling edits with strong openings, smooth pacing, and clear storytelling.
- Enhance videos with subtitles, transitions, music, and effects to increase impact and viewing time.
- Adjust content for different platforms while keeping the tone and message consistent.
- Partner with creative, social media, and marketing teams to execute campaign ideas and weekly content plans.
- Share ideas for new formats, editing approaches, and content directions that fit current trends.
- Support videographers by polishing raw footage and converting it into final deliverables.
- Track social media trends, viral styles, and editing patterns across platforms.
- Review competitor and influencer content to identify effective practices and fresh creative concepts.
- Experiment with and refine editing methods to improve engagement results.
- Keep project files, media libraries, and version control neatly organized.
- Make sure all deliverables match each platform’s technical requirements, including aspect ratio, duration, and resolution.
- Complete work within deadlines while maintaining consistent creative quality.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Film, Multimedia, Communications, or a related discipline.
- At least 1–3 years of experience editing short-form videos or producing social media content.
- Hands-on proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Good knowledge of social media algorithms, trends, and audience behavior.
- Strong sense of timing, storytelling, and platform-appropriate tone.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment with quick turnaround expectations.
- A showreel or portfolio featuring short-form social media work is mandatory.
Why Join BJAK
- Help shape how millions experience the BJAK brand through creative storytelling.
- Enjoy accelerated career growth with exposure to regional work.
- Be part of a collaborative and inclusive creative environment.
- Work in a flat structure where initiative and ideas matter more than titles.
- Receive above-market compensation with opportunities for performance-linked growth.
Location Requirement
This role must be based in the UK.
Compensation
The base salary for this role is between £35,000 and £50,000 per year. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
