Role Summary

We are searching for an expert-level Video Editor to join the Content & Post-Production team, specifically focusing on the 'MrBeast Reacts' YouTube channel. This fast-paced role requires a deep passion for YouTube culture and the ability to transform multi-camera raw footage into highly engaging videos that captivate millions. The ideal candidate thrives under tight deadlines, maintains meticulous frame-by-frame editing, and has a razor-sharp focus on maximizing viewer retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and compile raw multi-camera reaction footage, skillfully blending main host commentary, picture-in-picture media, and dynamic visual elements.
• Create compelling video introductions and hooks that deliver on the title and thumbnail promises within the first 30 seconds to boost retention.
• Implement rapid pacing, comedic timing, and interactive visual effects including kinetic typography, memes, and customized tracking graphics.
• Apply advanced sound design techniques such as impactful sound effects, dynamic music volume adjustments, and clear voice audio balancing.
• Work collaboratively with lead editors and creative teams to incorporate fast-paced notes and feedback.
• Analyze YouTube retention data with lead editors to identify viewer drop-off points and refine editing strategies accordingly.
• Maintain well-organized and clean project timelines using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, adhering to company post-production standards.
• Partner with the thumbnail team to ensure visual elements align seamlessly with key video highlights and channel strategy.
• Stay up-to-date with internet culture trends and evolving viral editing styles to continually introduce fresh humor and visual innovation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years professional experience in high-tempo YouTube, commentary, or viral content video editing.
• Expert proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, including advanced skills in keyframing, motion tracking, masking, and dynamic linking.
• Comprehensive understanding of YouTube's algorithm factors such as Average View Duration, Click-Through Rate, and retention curve metrics.
• Advanced sound design capabilities including audio leveling and music selection to heighten comedic and emotional elements.
• Strong data-oriented editing approach that prioritizes audience retention metrics over subjective creativity.
• Ability to accept and apply fast-paced creative feedback constructively while maintaining high-quality output.
• Extreme attention to detail with precision in pacing and visual overlays down to the frame level.
• Proven experience managing heavy workloads including file compression, color correction, and YouTube-optimized exports.
• Demonstrated ownership of entire video production processes ensuring deadlines and technical quality are met consistently.
